The Assessment Process

Complete a Hire Agreement Form (0.1 MB | PDF) and send it to sailing@ffsc.co.uk.  Sam Rowell, Andy Robinson or Paul Williams will book an assessment with you before sign off. The approval you receive will be based on your experience and level of competence and will allow you to sail in one of three ways:

  1. Sailing with Club Safety
  2. Sailing solo up river
  3. Sailing solo up river and at sea

Booking a Club Boat

A boat is booked using the diary which is kept in the club entrance hall. Bookings are by the half day and are charged at £5 for a Laser One and £10 for Laser 2000 or Dart 16 per half day. You can only book a maximum of seven days in advance, unless prior agreement is given by one of the organisers. Nominally the morning will be from 09.00 – 13.00 and the afternoon from 13.00 – 17.00. Evening racing will also count as a session.

You should pay the hire fee over the bar or post the fee into the club letter box using one of the envelopes provided, noting your name, date of hire, boat you have used and the amount you are paying.

Further details are explained on the Hire Agreement Form (0.1 MB | PDF)
