FFSC Weekly News 19th August 2020

Clubhouse Opening times

Our Covid committee have planned the layout of the clubhouse with the following things in mind:

1. Government guidelines including Track and Trace requirements
2. RYA guidelines
3. East Suffolk Council regulations
4. Licensing authority
5. Safety of our members and staff
6. Cost to the club
7. The UK Law

So far, the 2m distance layout has worked well. We know that some members are very comfortable with this layout and some are not. We do feel it is a shame that we can only take 36 members into the club at any one time, but this is to ensure that our members and staff are kept safe at all times and it discharges our duty of care responsibilities.

We will consider alterations as Government Guidelines are relaxed.
This is always work in progress.

Update from the Yacht Captain

Friday 21st August & Saturday 22nd August – Cruise to Ipswich

We are looking forward to seeing you on the Cruise to Ipswich.

However, one thing, it is with regret that the planned drinks reception on the evening of Friday 21st August In The Old Clubhouse has had to be cancelled due to concerns over maintaining social distancing in the available space.

Boats will hopefully be placed together on the marina, participants are then free to make their own plans for socializing and dining as they feel appropriate.

Any questions or bookings, please contact the WhatsApp cruising group, email me on lynjskelton@hotmail.com or text me on 07881813599.

1st or 2nd September

The cruise leaving on either 1st or 2nd September to Walton and Frinton Yacht Club, or Titchmarsh marina, ( not 3rd September as stated previously, ) will be the last organised this year on behalf of FFSC.

Thank you everyone who has made the club cruises so successful this summer, your enthusiasm and commitment has been wonderful, as well as your respectful social distancing towards each other on behalf of the club during this Covid crisis.
