Message from our Chairman

We have been working hard to ready the club for opening. The few volunteers have been magnificent and we thank them for all their hard work. There is still more to do.

We are complying with Government, RYA, Licensing authority and East Suffolk Council Regulations. We also have to comply with our Insurance company’s requirements and have to pass an inspection before we can open. This should all be in place by the end of next week. We would love to serve drinks at the door this week and keep the sailors happy, however we are not able to.
All help will be gratefully received, please email volunteer@ffsc.co.uk if you think you can help. We are on the final push. We will keep you informed as soon as we are given the go ahead.

Social Media Caution

In these difficult times when emotions are heightened and living is stressful. I would like to remind people to be cautious in what they communicate on Social Media.

We would not wish the club or membership to fall foul of good general practice. All Racist, LGBT and gender comments should not appear. If unguarded and “funny” comments are made that can be proven to be inappropriate the person posting the comment could find themselves at risk or criminal prosecution.

Please refrain from all personal comments that could be deemed offensive.

Message from General committee

We are at the stage when the General Committee need some help from the members. We need volunteers to help run and manage aspects of the Club.

There are five ways we need your help.
Three positions where people take responsibility for certain aspects of running the club, general help with opening the bar and a permanent position.

Bar Committee Chairman.
The responsibilities will include chairing the small Bar Committee and overseeing the administration and management of the bar and staff. Initially this will be with volunteer and some paid staff until the bar can be viable for us to employ a Bar Steward. This will be a Voluntary position initially and will require liaison with the experienced bar persons and with help from members skilled in technical support activities for the bar services.

Bar Server.
This position is to serve the drinks to the members by taking orders, preparing the
drinks, placing them on a tray for the members to take from the bar to their table. Payment will be taken by card.
The bar person will not be handling anything other than drinks. They will be supported by a
volunteer member Bar Server Assistant.

Bar Server Assistants
These will be volunteer members who directly support the Bar server. They will greet members and supervise entry to the club, direct members to sanitization station, record members names in the entry log and direct members to the bar ordering and table areas.

Overseer of Hygiene Standards for the Galley.
This position will require you to help administer and inspect the hygiene regulation activity in the Galley area. We currently have 5 rating and since the deep clean of the club and galley we are starting from a position of strength. It mainly is checking records are completed and maintained and liaising with the East Suffolk Council hygiene department at the annual October inspection.

Professional Bar Services Manager
When the time comes that we can employ a Professional Bar Services Manager. We would appreciate knowing of any member who has the skill and qualifications to carry out the job on a paid basis. If no person registers an interest, when the time comes we will go through the normal channels for employing a suitably qualified person.

We look forward to hearing from people who would like be involved in the next stage of opening up the club.
To apply please email; volunteer@ffsc.co.uk
