The General Committee have been listening to the membership in these difficult times however we are aware that there are plenty of questions out there. We have created a new email address askthegc@ffsc.co.uk and invite you to ask any questions for response here. We will collate the questions and post responses on the club website so that an answer to your question can help others. We welcome these questions in advance of the virtual AGM in March where there will be a limited capability to ask/respond to questions. You can use this address to make suggestions to the GC, if you have concerns or a problem.

Jenny Simpson (many will remember her as Jenny Deighton)

It is with great sadness that we report that Jenny passed away suddenly on 29th January 2021. A well-known yacht sailor and club member back in the 70s and 80s, she came to live in Felixstowe a few years ago with her late husband Tony and became an active social member. She will be deeply missed by her many friends. Our thoughts are with her two sons Jim & Tom.

FFSC 5 year Business Plan

During Last year the committee held some workshops to develop a strategy for the club in the future. The work will not be completed by the end of this current
committee and the body of work including a member’s survey and post COVID-19 issues will need to be considered or completed by the next General Committee.
The commodore elect, Colin Lister, has expressed an interest in a working group to take a fresh look at the Club’s mission, vision, business model and how best sailing and other activities can be effectively delivered to the membership.
To that end he has spoken to Ed Candy, as a Club member who is an experienced businessman with a track record of delivering business potential in competitive markets. Ed has kindly offered to volunteer his time as a Consultant to develop such a plan for FFSC Ltd in consultation with the Directors, General Committee and Club members. It is proposed that this work will commence after the delayed March AGM, and that the resultant plan will be published to all members prior to the November AGM.

Your thoughts on how you would like to see the Club re-establish post Covid will be welcomed by Ed who can be contacted by email on edwincandy@btinternet.com or by phone on 07782 345678.
