FFSC Weekly News 15th October 2020

Club opening

Dear Members
It is with regret that having considered the matter at some length with the General Committee it has been decided to close the Clubhouse for the present, from the 19th October. The restrictions imposed due to the Virus seem to be constantly evolving and accordingly we and the General  Committee will regularly review the position and sincerely hope that we shall be able to reopen as soon as possible.
Our decision has been based primarily on two issues :-
1. Since reopening on a limited basis back in August there has been a  considerable trading loss. Although the Club does have reserves it was not considered justified or prudent for us to allow these to continue to be depleted. We are anxious that when eventually we emerge from these current circumstances we do so in as strong a financial position as is possible.
2. Because of Government restrictions the Club facilities have only been available to a very limited number of members and we are cognisant that the Club has a duty to the membership as a whole.
We would like to take this opportunity of thanking the General Committee and all volunteers for the immense amount of hard work and time that they have devoted to enable the Club to reopen for the last few weeks, and also to those members who have been able to come along in support. Let us hope for a much Happier New Year.

Further, in view of the current circumstances, it has been decided to adjourn the Club AGM until a date to be notified in the New Year.
