Discover Sailing & Meet the Rowers Day
Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club are holding a ‘Discover Sailing & Meet the Rowers Day’ on Sunday, 25th August 2024 between 11am and 8.30pm at Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, Felixstowe Ferry, Felixstowe, IP11 9RZ
We have a great line of fun packed events for all ages. Everyone is welcome!
What to Expect
FREE Sailing for all ages between 11am and 4pm. Your chance to have a go at sailing on the River Deben
Meet the Rowers and see what Rowing on the River Deben and the North Sea is all about between 11.30am and 4pm.
The Club bar will be open from 12 midday until 8.30pm with a large variety of drinks to purchase.
Food will be on offer from 12 midday until 6pm to include a bar menu at lunchtime and the BBQ will fire up at 4pm.
Loads of stalls, including cakes, teas/coffees, tombola, also including:
- Tracy Barritt-Brown – Local Willow artist
- Fanatical Botanical – Natural skincare products
- Cards by Jenny Storer
Music to include a local Radio station Fresh Gold Radio and Robert the pianist.
We have a raffle for your chance to win lots of lovely prizes
Free Sailing Sessions – Running from 11am until 4pm
Ever wondered what it feels like to glide across the water under sail? Now’s your chance to find out!
We run a timed schedule to ensure all those that attend get a free sail. You are taken out with experienced sailors and all the safety equipment eg. lifejackets are available to use.
You could even get a certificate to show that you have been sailing.
Sailing is open to all age groups and everyone is welcome.
Our changing rooms with showers are available for those that want to change.
Meet the Rowers – Running from 11.30am until 4pm
Come and meet our passionate rowing team. Our Rowing team will be on hand to show you the boat they row and explain how you can get involved with rowing.
Our rowers will also be racing on the river Deben just outside the clubhouse, promises to be entertaining.
Live Music and Entertainment
Music all day to include:
Fresh Gold Radio from 11am til 4pm
Robert the pianist paying from 4pm til late
Drink
The Club has a well stocked bar and the staff are very friendly.
We are also offering tea and coffee that will be beside our cake stand.
Food
There will be plenty of savoury and CAKE available on our cake stall from 11am.
Also the Galley will be open from Midday for a bar snack menu, pint of prawns with hunk of bread, crab salad, and seafood platter.
Then the BBQ will fire up at around 4pm for an evening of fun and party
